Fundació Camiral
A foundation for the future
At Camiral, our mission is to create lasting impact. That’s why, in 2026, we established Fundació Camiral with a clear purpose: to support the long-term wellbeing of the communities around us while protecting the natural environment that defines this destination.
Focused on education, sport, access to employment, and biodiversity, the Foundation works closely with the neighbouring municipalities of Caldes de Malavella, Sils, and Vilobí.
Through partnerships with organisations such as Impulsa Foundation and CEN (Natural Spaces Conservation), we are investing in meaningful, long-term impact.
From funding scholarships for young people to access vocational training, to introducing local children to golf through complimentary lessons at our PGA National Academy, each initiative is designed to create opportunity, inspire ambition, and preserve the environment we call home.
Our partnerships include:
Empowering education & employment
Collaboration with the Impulsa Foundation
The Impulsa Foundation supports young people from Caldes de Malavella, Sils, and Vilobí in accessing education, mentorship, and vocational opportunities. The initiative is focused on creating greater equality of opportunity for young people in socially and economically vulnerable situations.
Across the next three years, Camiral will fund scholarships and training support designed to help future generations grow with confidence and ambition.
Golf for the next generation
Since 2025, Camiral has offered complimentary golf lessons to children and young people from local schools at the PGA National Academy. The programme introduces golf in an accessible and inspiring way, encouraging participation from an early age.
By opening the sport to local communities, the initiative also helps young people explore future pathways within golf and hospitality.
Biodiversity and nature protection
The management and upkeep of the resort is overseen in collaboration with the renowned environmental NGO, Conservation of Natural Ecosystems (CEN). This methodology differs from traditional golf course management and aligns with the policies established in the European Green Deal and the EU biodiversity strategy 2020-2030.
Since 2015, Camiral has integrated biodiversity and conservation into its daily operations. Often, these are closer to measures taken in nature reserves rather than golf courses.
The resort is now a sanctuary to 150 species, a third of which are birds. Other protected and threatened species at home here include eels, fire salamanders, western barn owls, and otters, alongside numerous invertebrates and plants.
Besides enhancing Camiral with their scents and sounds, many of our guest species pay their way by helping keep pests such as mosquitoes and rodents under control.
Camiral’s commitment to conservation has another important dividend. The resort now acts as a connecting hub between the protected natural areas that surround it, include Sils Lake, La Tordera river, and the Montseny Mountains.
